Nurse\\\'s Voice Summit Presentation

The Value of Wellness: Your Next Step to Building a Business with Skills You Already Have

First available August 1, 2026 - ongoing on demand

About the Presentation

Nurses are trained to see what others miss — a shift in a patient's breathing, a family under strain, a community gap no one else is naming. What most nurses never learn is that this same skill set can also be the foundation of a successful business.

This is business as a healing art: the same relational, ethical instincts that make you a good nurse are what make a values-aligned business sustainable — healing for the people you serve, and just as importantly, healing for you as its owner.

Sharon Burch, a nurse entrepreneur since 1984, will walk you through three everyday nursing skills — patient teaching, whole-person assessment, and care coordination — and name the wellness value and the business value side by side. You'll recognize these skills immediately, whether you're just starting to consider a business, already building one that isn't yet consistent, or growing a business that's ready for more stability.

About Sharon Burch

Sharon Burch, MSN, APRN, PHCNS, APHN, HWNC, has been a nurse since 1974 and a nurse entrepreneur and holistic nurse since 1984. She has successfully built and sold five for-profit and nonprofit businesses over the last 40 years. Now she shows other nurses how to do that through her Liberated Nurse Business Academy. The Academy is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association and the National Nurse Business Association as a nursing continuing education (CE) program that's accepted for RN license renewal in all 50 states.

For over four decades, Sharon has worked at the intersection of holistic nursing and sustainable business, guided by a simple belief: business, done well, is a healing art. Through self-paced courses, coaching, and a supportive peer community, she helps nurses turn their clinical experience into thriving, values-aligned businesses — without compromising the relational, ethical instincts that drew them to nursing in the first place.

Sharon has been a business and marketing consultant to organizations including the American Holistic Nurses Association, the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation, and Nurses in Charge, and speaks widely on nurse entrepreneurship and whole-person wellness.
